Santa run 2008
Green Township Fire Fighters Fire Prevention and awareness week.
Officers and members went to the schools to teach the children about fire safety.
Green township fire fighters attended the flash over trailer training.
Parade Day, GTFD attended the Sussex Co Parade held in Ogdensburg.
GTFD attended the Sussex Co Fire burn building.
Some fun at the Mt Lakes Barrel fight.
Mutual Aid Drill with Allamuchy FD
May 15, 2007
On Tuesday night May 15,
the guys from the GTFD got together with the
Allamuchy Township Fire
Department for a drill. Engine 95-62,
Rescue-Engine 95-61 and
Tanker 95-71 went into Allamuchy for the drill. The two
departments worked together using a training house to work on fire
attack, search and rescue, and roof ventilation.
 

We would like to extend
our thanks and appreciation to the
Allamuchy Fire Department for
preparing and inviting us to drill with them.
ICS 400
April 27, 2007
Congratulations to Chief
Mike Carlin and Assistant Chief Sam Bilotti on completing the ICS 400
class. They now both have Incident Management Level 3
Certifications, the highest available in the state of New Jersey.
Pump Training
March 31, 2007
On March 31, firefighters
got together at the firehouse to work on pump ops and water flow.
Training was held by Captain Pachnos.
 
In-House ICS 300
Training
March 10 - 17, 2007
On March 10, 11, and 17,
Captain Nick Pachnos, Firefighters Tom Charles, Bill O'Keefe, Jeremy
Bilotti, Fire Police Captain Vinny, and other firefighters from the
county furthered their knowledge of the incident command system by
taking the ICS 300 course. Training was held at the GTFD and
provided by instructors from the Sussex County Fire Academy.
GTFD Celebrates 60th
Anniversary
March 3, 2007

 
On March 3, the GTFD's Annual
Installation Dinner was held at the Adam Todd Restaurant in Byram
Township. Ceremonies included the swearing in of line officers and
administrative officers as well as the introduction of new members and
the presentation of some "awards." Members of the department from
its founding in 1947 through today were present along with their
supportive family members and dedicated wives. The GTFD would also
like to take the time to thank the officers and members from neighboring
departments who attended the ceremonies. Below, one of the
founding members from 1947, Ralph Shotwell, received a department jacket
from the current members.

 
Live Burn at the Academy
February 17, 2007
 
On February 17, the guys went
up to Warren County Fire Academy to get some training in. Crews
ran though live burn evolutions, search and rescue, and got some time on
Andover Boro's ladder truck.

Engine
95-62 and Rescue Engine 95-61 went up and got put to work, both
performing well throughout the duration of the burn.

The firefighters trained under
the supervision of the Academy's fire instructors as well as the Chief,
Assistant Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant.

Annual GTFD Santa Run December 23, 2006

On December 23, members of the GTFD pulled together another successful annual "Santa Run".
Rescue-Engine 95-61 with the Assistant Chief, FF Bilotti, FF Charles and Junior FF Cammisa,
Engine 95-62 with FF Murphy, FF Lynch, and
FF DeLoreto, and Tanker 95-71 with the Captain, FF Miller, and FF Olivier all brought Santa around the GTFD's response area to see the young children and give them candy canes.

Prior to the annual "Santa Run", Fire Police Captain Vinny Cammisa treated the guys to a delicious breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast.

Friday Night Poker at the Firehouse December 22, 2006

On December 22, a bunch of the guys got together at the firehouse to play seven card stud, five card draw, texas hold em, "baseball", hang out, and have some pizza. Assistant Chief Bilotti ended up being the big winner on the night.
